* cpukit/posix/src/[a-o]*.c: Change license to BSD-2Joel Sherrill2022-02-281-3/+22
| | | | Updates #3053.
* score: Fix initialization of thread queue contextSebastian Huber2021-06-101-1/+1
| | | | | | | Set Thread_queue_Context::timeout_absolute in _Thread_queue_Context_set_timeout_argument() to avoid using it uninitialized. The bug was introduced by a89ecaa1a94d49ddae7753d6b83923e9d2a00486.
* doxygen: Switch @brief and @ingroupSebastian Huber2020-04-281-1/+2
| | | | This order change fixes the Latex documentation build via Doxygen.
* Canonicalize config.h includeSebastian Huber2020-04-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Use the following variant which was already used by most source files: #ifdef HAVE_CONFIG_H #include "config.h" #endif
* score: Fix legacy RTEMS_STATIC_ASSERT()Sebastian Huber2018-10-051-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | In standard C pointer operands are not allowed in integer constant expressions. Avoid a static assertion based on an array typedef since this could lead to warnings ("variably modified 'x' at file scope" and "typedef 'x' locally defined but not used"); This implementation requires unique messages.
* score: Move thread queue timeout handlingSebastian Huber2017-10-241-19/+10
| | | | | Update #3117. Update #3182.
* posix: Do not touch msg priority in case of errorSebastian Huber2017-10-241-4/+4

* score: Introduce Thread_queue_Lock_contextSebastian Huber2016-09-081-2/+2
| | | | | | Introduce Thread_queue_Lock_context to contain the context necessary for thread queue lock and thread wait lock acquire/release operations to reduce the Thread_Control size.
* cpukit: Add and use Watchdog_Discipline.Gedare Bloom2016-07-251-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Clock disciplines may be WATCHDOG_RELATIVE, WATCHDOG_ABSOLUTE, or WATCHDOG_NO_TIMEOUT. A discipline of WATCHDOG_RELATIVE with a timeout of WATCHDOG_NO_TIMEOUT is equivalent to a discipline of WATCHDOG_NO_TIMEOUT. updates #2732
* score: Add Status_Control for all APIsSebastian Huber2016-05-261-7/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | Unify the status codes of the Classic and POSIX API to use the new enum Status_Control. This eliminates the Thread_Control::Wait::timeout_code field and the timeout parameter of _Thread_queue_Enqueue_critical() and _MPCI_Send_request_packet(). It gets rid of the status code translation tables and instead uses simple bit operations to get the status for a particular API. This enables translation of status code constants at compile time. Add _Thread_Wait_get_status() to avoid direct access of thread internal data structures.
* score: Move thread queue MP callout to contextSebastian Huber2016-05-251-7/+7
| | | | | | | | Drop the multiprocessing (MP) dependent callout parameter from the thread queue extract, dequeue, flush and unblock methods. Merge this parameter with the lock context into new structure Thread_queue_Context. This helps to gets rid of the conditionally compiled method call helpers.
* score: Move thread queue object supportSebastian Huber2016-05-251-2/+1
|
* score: _CORE_message_queue_Seize()Sebastian Huber2016-05-241-1/+0
| | | | Delete unused parameter.
* posix: Simplify message queuesSebastian Huber2016-05-021-92/+75
| | | | | | | | | | | | The mq_open() function returns a descriptor to a POSIX message queue object identified by a name. This is similar to sem_open(). In contrast to the POSIX semaphore the POSIX message queues use a separate object for the descriptor. This extra object is superfluous, since the object identifier can be used directly for this purpose, just like for the semaphores. Update #2702. Update #2555.
* score: _CORE_message_queue_Seize()Sebastian Huber2016-05-021-0/+5
| | | | | Move lock acquire to caller of _CORE_message_queue_Seize() to allow state checks during receive operations under lock protection.
* score: Delete Thread_Wait_information::idSebastian Huber2016-04-061-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | This field was only by the monitor in non-multiprocessing configurations. Add new field Thread_Wait_information::remote_id in multiprocessing configurations and use it for the remote procedure call thread queue. Add _Thread_Wait_get_id() to obtain the object identifier for debug and system information tools. Ensure the object layout via static asserts. Add test cases to sptests/spthreadq01.
* score: Rename _POSIX_Absolute_timeout_to_ticks()Sebastian Huber2015-07-281-1/+0
| | | | | | Rename _POSIX_Absolute_timeout_to_ticks() to _TOD_Absolute_timeout_to_ticks() and move it to the score directory. Delete empty <rtems/posix/time.h>.
* score: Fine grained locking for message queuesSebastian Huber2015-05-191-5/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | Aggregate several critical sections into a bigger one. Sending and receiving messages is now protected by an ISR lock. Thread dispatching is only disabled in case a blocking operation is necessary. The message copy procedure is done inside the critical section (interrupts disabled). Thus this change may have a negative impact on the interrupt latency in case very large messages are transferred. Update #2273.
* Change all references of rtems.com to rtems.org.Chris Johns2014-03-211-1/+1

* score: Avoid direct usage of _Thread_ExecutingSebastian Huber2013-07-221-3/+6
| | | | | | Pass the executing thread as a function parameter. Obtain the executing thread inside a thread dispatch critical section to avoid problems on SMP.
* posix: Create message queue implementation headerSebastian Huber2013-07-221-1/+1
| | | | | | Move implementation specific parts of mqueue.h and mqueue.inl into new header file mqueueimpl.h. The mqueue.h contains now only the application visible API.
* score: Add and use _Objects_Put()Sebastian Huber2013-06-071-3/+3
| | | | | | Add and use _Objects_Put_without_thread_dispatch(). These two functions pair with the _Objects_Get() function. This helps to introduce object specific SMP locks to avoid lock contention.

Some of these services incorrectly took a timeout as a relative time. Others would compute a 0 delta to timeout if the absolute time and the current time were equal and thus incorrectly block the caller forever. The root of the confusion is that POSIX specifies that if the timeout is incorrect (e.g. in the past, is now, or is numerically invalid), that it does not matter if the call would succeed without blocking. This is in contrast to RTEMS programming style where all errors are checked before any critical sections are entered. This fix implemented a more uniform way of handling POSIX absolute time timeouts. + pthread_cond_timedwait - could block forever + mq_timedreceive - used relative not absolute time + mq_timedsend - used relative not absolute time + pthread_mutex_timedlock - used relative not absolute time + pthread_rwlock_timedrdlock- used relative not absolute time + pthread_rwlock_timedwrlock- used relative not absolute time + sem_timedwait - could block forever
