* Patch from Emmanuel Raguet <raguet@crf.canon.fr> to add remote debug serverJoel Sherrill1998-12-031-19/+21
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | and RPC support to RTEMS. Thanks. :) Email follows: Hello, For Xmas, here is the Remote Debugger on RTEMS ! Here are 2 patches for the Remote Debugger on RTEMS for pc386 from Linux host : - one for RTEMS it self, - one for GDB-4.17. 1/ RTEMS patch -------------- This patch adds 2 libraries : - a simplified SUN RPC library - the Remote Debugger library The configuration command is the following : ../rtems4/configure --target=i386-rtemself --enable-rtemsbsp=pc386 --enable-rdbg The SUN RPC library is built only if networking is set. The RDBG library is built if networking and enable-rdbg are set. The function used to initialize the debugger is : rtems_rdbg_initialize (); A special function has been created to force a task to be in a "debug" state : enterRdbg(). The use of this function is not mandatory. 2/ GDB-4.17 patch ----------------- This patch create a new RTEMS target for GDB-4.17. The configuration command is the following : ./configure --enable-shared --target=i386RTEMS To connect to a target, use : target rtems [your_site_address] Then, attach the target using : attach 1 And... Debug ;) You can obtain the original GDB-4.17 on ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/stable/main/source/devel/gdb_4.17.orig.tar.gz This has been tested from a Debian 2.0.1 linux host.

* Patch from Eric VALETTE <valette@crf.canon.fr>:Joel Sherrill1998-07-231-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Here is a enhanced version of my previous patch. This patch enables to potentially share the new interrupt management code for all Intel targets (pc386, go32 and force386) bsp. Note : this patch is complete only for pc386. It still needs to be completed for go32 and force386. I carrefully checked that anything needed is in for force386 (only some function name changes for IDT manipulation and GDT segment manipulation). But anyway I will not be able to test any of theses targets...

| | | | | | | | | | | | | was done based on the 3.6.0 release and had to be autoconf'ed locally. It is turned on is the bsp enables it and it is not explicitly disabled via the configure option --disable-tcpip. As many warnings as possible were removed locally after the code was merged. Only the gen68360 and mvme136 bsps were compiled this way. The ka9q port and network driver were submitted by Eric Norum (eric@skatter.USask.Ca). The network demo programs are not included in the tree at this point.

* The word "RTEMS" almost completely removed from the core.Joel Sherrill1995-09-111-5/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Configuration Table Template file added and all tests modified to use this. All gvar.h and conftbl.h files removed from test directories. Configuration parameter maximum_devices added. Core semaphore and mutex handlers added and RTEMS API Semaphore Manager updated to reflect this. Initialization sequence changed to invoke API specific initialization routines. Initialization tasks table now owned by RTEMS Tasks Manager. Added user extension for post-switch. Utilized user extensions to implement API specific functionality like signal dispatching. Added extensions to the System Initialization Thread so that an API can register a function to be invoked while the system is being initialized. These are largely equivalent to the pre-driver and post-driver hooks. Added the Modules file oar-go32_p5, modified oar-go32, and modified the file make/custom/go32.cfg to look at an environment varable which determines what CPU model is being used. All BSPs updated to reflect named devices and clock driver's IOCTL used by the Shared Memory Driver. Also merged clock isr into main file and removed ckisr.c where possible. Updated spsize to reflect new and moved variables. Makefiles for the executive source and include files updated to show break down of files into Core, RTEMS API, and Neither. Header and inline files installed into subdirectory based on whether logically in the Core or a part of the RTEMS API.
