* config: Add CONFIGURE_IDLE_TASK_STORAGE_SIZESebastian Huber2022-10-141-3/+55
| | | | | | | | | | | | By default, allocate the IDLE task storage areas from the RTEMS Workspace. This avoids having to estimate the thread-local storage size in the default configuration. Add the application configuration option CONFIGURE_IDLE_TASK_STORAGE_SIZE to request a static allocation of the task storage area for IDLE tasks. Update #3835. Update #4524.
* config: Changeable size for IDLE stack allocatorSebastian Huber2022-10-141-5/+12
| | | | | | | | Allow the IDLE stack allocator to change the stack size. This can be used by applications with a very dynamic thread-local storage size to adjust the thread storage area of the IDLE tasks dynamically. Update #4524.

* Add support for IDLE Thread stack allocatorJoel Sherrill2021-10-111-0/+24
| | | | | | | | Add a stack allocator hook specifically for allocation of IDLE thread stacks. This allows the user to decide if IDLE thread stacks are statically allocated or handled by the same custom allocator mechanism as other thread stacks. Closes #4524.

* score: Canonicalize Doxygen groupsSebastian Huber2020-12-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | Adjust group identifier and names to be in line with a common pattern. Use common phrases for the group brief descriptions. Update #3706.
* score: Add _Stack_Allocator_do_initialize()Sebastian Huber2020-08-311-0/+7
| | | | | | | | Do the stack allocator initialization and sanity check only if a user-provided stack allocator was configured. This avoids a dependency of _Thread_Handler_initialization() on the stack allocator. Update #3959.

* Remove explicit file names from @fileSebastian Huber2019-02-281-1/+1

* Remove make preinstallChris Johns2018-01-251-0/+69
A speciality of the RTEMS build system was the make preinstall step. It copied header files from arbitrary locations into the build tree. The header files were included via the -Bsome/build/tree/path GCC command line option. This has at least seven problems: * The make preinstall step itself needs time and disk space. * Errors in header files show up in the build tree copy. This makes it hard for editors to open the right file to fix the error. * There is no clear relationship between source and build tree header files. This makes an audit of the build process difficult. * The visibility of all header files in the build tree makes it difficult to enforce API barriers. For example it is discouraged to use BSP-specifics in the cpukit. * An introduction of a new build system is difficult. * Include paths specified by the -B option are system headers. This may suppress warnings. * The parallel build had sporadic failures on some hosts. This patch removes the make preinstall step. All installed header files are moved to dedicated include directories in the source tree. Let @RTEMS_CPU@ be the target architecture, e.g. arm, powerpc, sparc, etc. Let @RTEMS_BSP_FAMILIY@ be a BSP family base directory, e.g. erc32, imx, qoriq, etc. The new cpukit include directories are: * cpukit/include * cpukit/score/cpu/@RTEMS_CPU@/include * cpukit/libnetworking The new BSP include directories are: * bsps/include * bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/include * bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/@RTEMS_BSP_FAMILIY@/include There are build tree include directories for generated files. The include directory order favours the most general header file, e.g. it is not possible to override general header files via the include path order. The "bootstrap -p" option was removed. The new "bootstrap -H" option should be used to regenerate the "headers.am" files. Update #3254.
