* Canonicalize config.h includeSebastian Huber2020-04-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | Use the following variant which was already used by most source files: #ifdef HAVE_CONFIG_H #include "config.h" #endif
* testsuite/smptests: Merged nested Makefile.am files into one Makefile.amChris Johns2018-04-101-19/+0
| | | | | | This change is part of the testsuite Makefile.am reorganization. Update #3382
* tests: Use simple console driverSebastian Huber2017-11-061-1/+1
| | | | | Update #3170. Update #3199.
* tests: Remove TEST_INITSebastian Huber2017-10-281-2/+0
| | | | | | | | The TEST_EXTERN is a used only by the system.h style tests and they use CONFIGURE_INIT appropriately. Update #3170. Update #3199.
* tests: Remove obsolete TESTS_USE_PRINTKSebastian Huber2017-10-281-1/+0
| | | | | Update #3170. Update #3199.
* testsuite: Use printk for all test output where possible.Chris Johns2017-10-231-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | - Remove the printf support leaving the direct printk support configured with TESTS_USE_PRINTK and all other output goes via a buffered vsniprintf call to printk. - Control the test's single init for functions and global data with TEST_INIT and not CONFIGURE_INIT. They are now separate. Updates #3170.
* Rename CONFIGURE_SMP_MAXIMUM_PROCESSORSSebastian Huber2017-02-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | Rename CONFIGURE_SMP_MAXIMUM_PROCESSORS to CONFIGURE_MAXIMUM_PROCESSORS since the SMP part is superfluous. Update #2894.
* Remove CONFIGURE_SMP_APPLICATIONSebastian Huber2017-02-021-3/+1
| | | | | | Enable the SMP support if CONFIGURE_SMP_MAXIMUM_PROCESSORS > 1. Update #2893.
* Rename is_internal to always_set_to_falseSebastian Huber2016-12-121-2/+2
| | | | Update #2825.
* score: Robust thread dispatchSebastian Huber2016-11-234-0/+103
| | | | | | | | | | | | On SMP configurations, it is a fatal error to call blocking operating system with interrupts disabled, since this prevents delivery of inter-processor interrupts. This could lead to executing threads which are not allowed to execute resulting in undefined behaviour. The ARM Cortex-M port has a similar problem, since the interrupt state is not a part of the thread context. Update #2811.
* score: SMP_FATAL_SCHEDULER_WITHOUT_PROCESSORSSebastian Huber2014-05-054-113/+0
| | | | | Avoid the SMP_FATAL_SCHEDULER_WITHOUT_PROCESSORS fatal error and make it a run-time error in rtems_scheduler_ident() and _Scheduler_Get_by_id().
* score: Add clustered/partitioned schedulingSebastian Huber2014-04-154-0/+113
Clustered/partitioned scheduling helps to control the worst-case latencies in the system. The goal is to reduce the amount of shared state in the system and thus prevention of lock contention. Modern multi-processor systems tend to have several layers of data and instruction caches. With clustered/partitioned scheduling it is possible to honour the cache topology of a system and thus avoid expensive cache synchronization traffic. We have clustered scheduling in case the set of processors of a system is partitioned into non-empty pairwise-disjoint subsets. These subsets are called clusters. Clusters with a cardinality of one are partitions. Each cluster is owned by exactly one scheduler instance.
