Whatsoever, the patch below should fix this problem. Note: This is a mere bug fix, it doesn't move any of the variables involved to target.cfg nor does it try to eliminate any variable.
*	Split SONIC chip into appropriate files for libchip'ing. The portable	Joel Sherrill	1999-02-05	1	-0/+416
	portion is now in the libchip tree and the dmv177 configuration is in the dmv177 bsp. The performance impact of libchip'ing this driver was minimal.
