This patch is a part of the BSP source reorganization.
Update #3285.

A "make dist" is not supported. So, it makes no sense to have pure "make
dist" related stuff in the Makefile.am.

The previous cache manager support used a single souce file
(cache_manager.c) which included an implementation header (cache_.h).
This required the use of specialized include paths to find the right
header file. Change this to include a generic implementation header
(cacheimpl.h) in specialized source files.
Use the following directories and files:
* bsps/shared/cache
* bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/shared/cache
* bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/@RTEMS_BSP_FAMILY/start/cache.c

A speciality of the RTEMS build system was the make preinstall step. It
copied header files from arbitrary locations into the build tree. The
header files were included via the -Bsome/build/tree/path GCC command
line option.
This has at least seven problems:
* The make preinstall step itself needs time and disk space.
* Errors in header files show up in the build tree copy. This makes it
hard for editors to open the right file to fix the error.
* There is no clear relationship between source and build tree header
files. This makes an audit of the build process difficult.
* The visibility of all header files in the build tree makes it
difficult to enforce API barriers. For example it is discouraged to
use BSP-specifics in the cpukit.
* An introduction of a new build system is difficult.
* Include paths specified by the -B option are system headers. This
may suppress warnings.
* The parallel build had sporadic failures on some hosts.
This patch removes the make preinstall step. All installed header
files are moved to dedicated include directories in the source tree.
Let @RTEMS_CPU@ be the target architecture, e.g. arm, powerpc, sparc,
etc. Let @RTEMS_BSP_FAMILIY@ be a BSP family base directory, e.g.
erc32, imx, qoriq, etc.
The new cpukit include directories are:
* cpukit/include
* cpukit/score/cpu/@RTEMS_CPU@/include
* cpukit/libnetworking
The new BSP include directories are:
* bsps/include
* bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/include
* bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/@RTEMS_BSP_FAMILIY@/include
There are build tree include directories for generated files.
The include directory order favours the most general header file, e.g.
it is not possible to override general header files via the include path
order.
The "bootstrap -p" option was removed. The new "bootstrap -H" option
should be used to regenerate the "headers.am" files.

The file console-polled.h provides the prototypes for the three
required methods when implementing a single port polled console
driver. This paradigm is common on simulators and simple hardware.
+ Updated the BSPs Makefile.am to make console-polled.h available.
+ Regenerated the BSPs preinstall.sm.
+ Updated console support files to include <bsp/console-polled.h>.
+ Updated console support files to make printk() support method static.

The MIPS port defines CPU_SIMPLE_VECTORED_INTERRUPTS to FALSE.

This is declared in <bsp/bootcard.h> and is the usual function to reset
a board.

Script does what is expected and tries to do it as
smartly as possible.
+ remove occurrences of two blank comment lines
next to each other after Id string line removed.
+ remove entire comment blocks which only exited to
contain CVS Ids
+ If the processing left a blank line at the top of
a file, it was removed.

* Makefile.am: Change to one file per line. Clean up.
| |
* ChangeLog, Makefile.am: Add bsp_reset() stub.
| |
* Makefile.am: Fix broken path to clockdrv_shell.h.
| |
* Makefile.am, configure.ac: runtest for this BSP obsoleted by
rtems-testing/sim-scripts support. Please use those scripts.
| |
* Makefile.am, preinstall.am, start/start.S: Many files were duplicated
across MIPS BSPs. Now those which were directly copied are shared.
* start/regs.h: Removed.
| |
* clock/clockdrv.c: include "../../../shared/clockdrv_shell.h".
* Makefile.am: Reflect changes above.
| |
* Makefile.am: Eliminate bsp.am. Build startup files as side-effect
of building libbspstart.a, using automake-rules.
| |
* start/regs.S: Remove (Renamed into start/regs.h).
* start/regs.h: New (Renamed from start/regs.S).
* Makefile.am, start/start.S: Reflect renamer.
| |
* Makefile.am: Eliminate *_SOURCES.
| |
* Makefile.am: Move noinst_LIBRARIES = libbsp.a before its
components.
| |
* Makefile.am: Remove noinst_PROGRAMS (Unused).
| |
* Makefile.am: Cleanup ../../shared/include/bootcard.h handling.
| |
* Makefile.am: bsp_cleanup() had the same code which was executed when
you returned from boot_card() to start.S. So just use the stub
bsp_cleanup() implementation and remove a file.
* startup/bspclean.c: Removed.
| |
* Makefile.am, startup/linkcmds: Use top level shared
bsp_get_work_area() implementation.
* startup/bspgetworkarea.c: Removed.
| |
* Makefile.am, startup/bspstart.c: Split out bsp_get_work_area() into
its own file and use BSP Framework to perform more initialization.
* startup/bspgetworkarea.c: New file.
| |
* Makefile.am: Rework to avoid .rel files.
| |
* Makefile.am, startup/bspstart.c: Moved most of the remaining CPU
Table fields to the Configuration Table. This included
pretasking_hook, predriver_hook, postdriver_hook, idle_task,
do_zero_of_workspace, extra_mpci_receive_server_stack,
stack_allocate_hook, and stack_free_hook. As a side-effect of this
effort some multiprocessing code was made conditional and some style
clean up occurred.
| |
* Makefile.am: Modify to avoid pulling in too much into minimum
executable.
| |
* Makefile.am: Merge c_rtems_main() into boot_card(). This eliminated a
file and simplified initialization.
| |
* Makefile.am: Remove superfluous -DASM.
| |
| |
| |
* Makefile.am: Add preinstall.am.
| |
| |
* Makefile.am: Eliminate CFLAGS_OPTIMIZE_V.
