* build: Remove EXTRA_DISTSebastian Huber2018-04-041-2/+0
| | | | | A "make dist" is not supported. So, it makes no sense to have pure "make dist" related stuff in the Makefile.am.
* bsps/mips: Move libcpu content to bspsSebastian Huber2018-03-132-3/+2
| | | | | | This patch is a part of the BSP source reorganization. Update #3285.
* bsps: Rework cache manager implementationSebastian Huber2018-01-311-2/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The previous cache manager support used a single souce file (cache_manager.c) which included an implementation header (cache_.h). This required the use of specialized include paths to find the right header file. Change this to include a generic implementation header (cacheimpl.h) in specialized source files. Use the following directories and files: * bsps/shared/cache * bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/shared/cache * bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/@RTEMS_BSP_FAMILY/start/cache.c Update #3285.
* bsps: Move network define to source filesSebastian Huber2018-01-312-9/+3
| | | | | Define __INSIDE_RTEMS_BSD_TCPIP_STACK__ in the network interface driver source files to avoid some build system magic.
* Remove make preinstallChris Johns2018-01-257-316/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A speciality of the RTEMS build system was the make preinstall step. It copied header files from arbitrary locations into the build tree. The header files were included via the -Bsome/build/tree/path GCC command line option. This has at least seven problems: * The make preinstall step itself needs time and disk space. * Errors in header files show up in the build tree copy. This makes it hard for editors to open the right file to fix the error. * There is no clear relationship between source and build tree header files. This makes an audit of the build process difficult. * The visibility of all header files in the build tree makes it difficult to enforce API barriers. For example it is discouraged to use BSP-specifics in the cpukit. * An introduction of a new build system is difficult. * Include paths specified by the -B option are system headers. This may suppress warnings. * The parallel build had sporadic failures on some hosts. This patch removes the make preinstall step. All installed header files are moved to dedicated include directories in the source tree. Let @RTEMS_CPU@ be the target architecture, e.g. arm, powerpc, sparc, etc. Let @RTEMS_BSP_FAMILIY@ be a BSP family base directory, e.g. erc32, imx, qoriq, etc. The new cpukit include directories are: * cpukit/include * cpukit/score/cpu/@RTEMS_CPU@/include * cpukit/libnetworking The new BSP include directories are: * bsps/include * bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/include * bsps/@RTEMS_CPU@/@RTEMS_BSP_FAMILIY@/include There are build tree include directories for generated files. The include directory order favours the most general header file, e.g. it is not possible to override general header files via the include path order. The "bootstrap -p" option was removed. The new "bootstrap -H" option should be used to regenerate the "headers.am" files. Update #3254.
* bsps: Use CPPASCOMPILE for startfileSebastian Huber2018-01-021-3/+4
| | | | Update #3254.

* bsps: Clock_driver_support_install_isr()Sebastian Huber2017-09-181-2/+2
| | | | | | | Remove old ISR parameter since is not used by the clock driver shell. Make an implementation optional. Update #3139.
* Simplify and unify BSP_output_charSebastian Huber2017-09-121-3/+0
| | | | | | | | The BSP_output_char should output a char and not mingle with high level processing, e.g. '\n' to '\r\n' translation. Move this translation to rtems_putc(). Remove it from all the BSP_output_char implementations. Close #3122.

* api: Remove deprecated NotepadsAun-Ali Zaidi2015-12-241-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Notepads where a feature of RTEMS' tasks that simply functioned in the same way as POSIX keys or threaded local storage (TLS). They were introduced well before per task variables, which are also deprecated, and were barely used in favor of their POSIX alternatives. In addition to their scarce usage, Notepads took up unnecessary memory. For each task: - 16 32-bit integers were allocated. - A total of 64 bytes per task per thread. This is especially critical in low memory and safety-critical applications. They are also defined as uint32_t, and therefore are not guaranteed to hold a pointer. Lastly, they are not portable solutions for SMP and uniprocessor systems, like POSIX keys and TLS. updates #2493.

* Add console-polled.h and update all BSPs that should use it.Joel Sherrill2014-10-103-4/+10
| | | | | | | | | | | The file console-polled.h provides the prototypes for the three required methods when implementing a single port polled console driver. This paradigm is common on simulators and simple hardware. + Updated the BSPs Makefile.am to make console-polled.h available. + Regenerated the BSPs preinstall.sm. + Updated console support files to include <bsp/console-polled.h>. + Updated console support files to make printk() support method static.
* Use correct prototype of benchmark_timer_read()Joel Sherrill2014-09-161-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This change starts with removing the effectively empty file timerdrv.h. The prototypes for benchmark_timer_XXX() were in btimer.h which was not universally used. Thus every use of timerdrv.h had to be changed to btimer.h. Then the prototypes for benchmark_timer_read() had to be adjusted to return benchmark_timer_t rather than int or uint32_t. I took this opportunity to also correct the file headers to separate the copyright from the file description comments which is needed to ensure the copyright isn't propagated into Doxygen output.

* RTEMS: Delete ChangeLog files.Gedare Bloom2013-03-081-369/+0
| | | | | | | | | This commit deletes all RTEMS ChangeLog files. These files have been abandoned since converting to git version control. The historical data may be recovered by checking out any commit before this one. Most of the contents of these ChangeLog files can also be found in the git log. Two external ChangeLog files, ChangeLog.slac and ChangeLog.zlib, remain.

| | | | | | | Include <bsp/default-initial-extension.h> in all BSPs. Call rtems_fatal() with RTEMS_FATAL_SOURCE_EXIT as source and the exit() status code as fatal code in every bsp_cleanup(). Move previous bsp_cleanup() code into bsp_fatal_extension().
